Our 0845 dialup accounts are now offered with a static IP address, at extra cost, should you wish to be assigned the same IP address whenever you connect. 
What is a Static IP? Just as each house and office has an address, so does every computer when it is connected to the Internet. Normally when you connect to the Internet you will receive a dynamic IP from a large list of addresses, and every time you connect you will receive the next available address. This means you rarely have the same IP address between connections.
Why would I want a Static IP? A static IP address is used if you always want to know the IP address your computer will be assigned when you dialup through our 0845 service, using a specific username/password combination. Your static IP address could be used to:
What does it cost? Our single user 0845 dialup accounts are available with a static IP address for £49 + vat per year, this gives you an 0845 dialup number, your own username/password and your own IP address.
